Crockpot Recipe - SIMPLE APPLESAUCE




Ingredients:
About 8 cooking apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup sugar
cinnamon to taste

Directions:
Combine apples and water in crockpot and cook on low for about 5 hours or on high for 2 1/2 hours, till apples are soft. Then add sugar and cinnamon and stir. Makes 4 cups of applesauce.

Most meats require 8 hours of cooking on LOW. Use cheaper cuts of meat - not only do you save money, but these meats work better in the slow cooker. Cheaper cuts of meat have less fat, which makes them more suited to crockpot cooking. Moist, long cooking times result in very tender meats.
