Crockpot Recipe - PEPPERED BEEF BRISKET IN BEER




Ingredients:
1 (4 lb) beef brisket
1 large onion sliced and separated into rings
3/4 tsp pepper
3 tbls all-purpose flour
3 tbls brown sugar
2 garlic cloves, minced
3/4 cup beer
1/2 cup chili sauce

Directions:
Trim fat from brisket; cut in half. Place onion rings in slow cooker. Sprinkle with pepper evenly over brisket. Place brisket halves over onion rings. Place flour, br sugar and garlic in a small bowl, gradually add beer and chili sauce, stirring until well blended. Pour over brisket. Cover with lid and cook on high setting for 1 hour then reduce to low setting and cook 6-8 hours our until tender. Makes 12 servings.

General Food Recipe Tip:

Most meats require 8 hours of cooking on LOW. Use cheaper cuts of meat - not only do you save money, but these meats work better in the slow cooker. Cheaper cuts of meat have less fat, which makes them more suited to crockpot cooking. Moist, long cooking times result in very tender meats.
